Airplanes have always been a huge
interest of mine. As a kid I built plastic models, flew control
line planes, and collected books about planes and read all the
magazines I could. Later, in adulthood, I started frequenting
airshows in the summers. In the 80's, I went to Edwards Air
Force Base to see the space shuttle land - wow - amazing, especially
since this was the mission that launched the Hubble Space Telescope.
I have attended the Reno Air Races for years, but never ventured
into the pits, and never thought I would be involved behind
the scenes helping on an Unlimited racer! I met Will in April
2006 when I went to the hangar with my neighbor Roy Domnke
(another team member), and a friend of Will’s, to see
this amazing airplane. Will was so friendly - he said "get
in the cockpit" - and boy was I smiling! I then asked
Will if he needed assistance, and I suppose you can guess
the answer! Since that night, I have enjoyed being involved
with such great people in this amazing project. i learn something
everytime I am at the hangar - a dream come true!
