Welcome to the official site of the Unlimited Air Racer
Team Steadfast

After a full nine months of working on the SteadFast every day mostly all day, the team has come together again to test the winter modification program. We changed Oil Coolers, Landing gear rigging, Spinner blade cutouts, added an after body to the spinner, sealed off the foot steps and cleaned up the induction trunk to the carb. These are just some of the larger items accomplished. The list included over one hundred additional items that needed looking at before Reno 2007. After 40 laps of practice, the Yak seemed to be better in all respects. We will now go back to the shop and install A.D.I. (Anti Detonation Injection) and a new propeller to bring the Yak up into the top of the Unlimited Silver class right next to the Fast Curtiss Wright 3350 powered Hawker Sea Furys. The A.D.I. should boost the Pratt Whitney R-2000 from 1400 Horsepower to around 1600 Horse Power. The new propeller was mainly sponsored by Bob Cannon and Wally McDonnell, long time warbird pilot, friend and air racer. Thanks! Bob & Wally. It is unknown at this time if SteadFast will show up in its Romanian primer green paint or a racy new scheme. We have a few favorites so far. We are still waiting for a major sponsor to have the airplane painted in their colors.

SteadFast fans should be ready for a new line of Team SteadFast Race Wear. We will be selling Hats, Sweat shirts, Polo's, T-Shirts (Black and White)with new 2007 art on the back and sleeve. We will still be offering the VERY popular girls Thongs and Boy shorts as well as spaghetti tops, V-neck and other items in the SteadFast women's race line. We will have better pricing this year as we have quantity discounts we will pass along to our fans, GET READY!

Yesterday, (08-23) we burned a lot of expensive avgas! We flew in Mike Stephens' (C.J.'s Brother) Beech Baron to Stockton to pick up our new prop. Then off to Camarillo to get prop parts. Whiteman KWHP and next to Van Nuys and Burbank, to see Wayne Johnson who just bought California Propeller. It will now be Aero Union Etc, Etc, Propeller shop.  Wayne is a great guy, more enthusiastic about air racing than any air racer could be! Welcome to the team Wayne and Company! You've really impressed all of us.

Expect to see some really groundbreaking propeller technology put from paper into reality with this combination. We should see prop and new prop governor before we head up to Reno Wayne said.

Off to Visalia to a little 3000 foot field where a friend named Norman Stubbs works. Another great guy and a lot of fun to talk to. He has HUGE experience with R2000's. I bought some engine parts from him as spares for Reno this year. Looking forward to seeing him in my pit at Reno this year.

Overall an expensive but great day in the quest for knowledge and truth. I had to keep pinching myself because who could be so lucky to get run around in a gorgeous twin gathering prop parts to have a "SPONSOR" build you a race prop? It's funny how obscure some days are and how you might appreciate one more than another. I feel very, very fortunate to have you folks as an audience and some of you as sponsors. I am amazed at your support. This is a "Once in a Lifetime" opportunity!     Thank you!

STAY TUNED!
